Tyler Polman named Independence Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Tyler Polman was named Independence Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 5, 2004. Polman won his second straight Chagrin Valley Conference cross country championship with a time of 16:04 at the Perry Outdoor YMCA.

His performance also led the Blue Devils to the team title in the Valley Division.

The following weekend, Polman claimed a second straight Medina Division III district meet title and defeated a runner who beat him by one second in a meet two weeks prior.

These first place finishes add to his individual victories earned at the Cardinal Invitational and Cuyahoga Heights Invitational that were contested earlier this season
