The Independence volleyball tips off its season on Thursday at Beachwood.
The Blue Devils, who seek a fourth straight Chagrin Valley Conference title, then will play their home opener on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Independence hosts CVC rival Perry and welcomes all youth players to attend the game. All youth players who wear their uniforms will be admitted free. The team will provide prizes and other giveaways to all in attendance.
"It is very important for our high school athletes to set a good example for our youth programs in Independence,” said Independence coach Megan Osysko. “They have worked hard to set the standard high for Independence volleyball and the younger athletes look up to each girl playing on the high school court. Their efforts now build a strong reputation and future.”
Osysko has guided the Blue Devils to three conference titles, two district titles and a regional runner-up finish in her first three years coaching at her alma mater.
