Mentor fell for the second time in as many days to Brunswick as the Blue Devils were outhit by the Cardinals (7-6) but still managed a 6-3 road victory on May 7.
Brunswick rallied for a 6-5 win at home in nine innings against Mentor on May 6.
Dominic Dengel was solid at the plate for the Cardinals. Dengel went 2 for 4, drove in a run and scored one run. He singled in the first and fifth innings, and also stole two bases.
Matt Eiswerth started and took the loss for Mentor, allowing six runs in six innings, walking five and striking out nine.
Brunswick scored six runs on three singles in the second inning and made the lead stand.
The Cardinals (10-10) scored three runs in the bottom of the third to cut their deficit to three. An error, an RBI single by Eiswerth, and a wild pitch sparked the rally.
Nathan Birtley and Ricky Valeri each doubled in the loss for Mentor, which plays Aurora on May 8 before finishing a very busy week with games against North and Shaker Heights on May 9.
