A field of dreams awaits Cardinal High School Senior KC Cress at Walsh University come August.
Cress officially signed his Letter of Intent to play baseball for the NCAA Division II School on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
“My childhood dreams are coming true,” Cress said after signing his letter. “Playing college baseball has been my goal for a very long time and I can’t wait to get there and get started.”
Walsh University is an independent, Catholic university located in North Canton, Ohio which competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
“I loved the coach at Walsh and the academic programs they offer… it’s close to home and it’s just a good fit for me,” Cress said about his decision to commit to Walsh.
In the meantime, Cress is looking forward to finishing out his high school baseball career this spring, making it his fourth season with the varsity team. Cress serves as captain and plays third base, shortstop and pitcher.
“We are so proud of the dedication KC has shown throughout his baseball career” said KC’s father Bill. “He’s worked really hard for this [Walsh University]. He deserves it, and the opportunity couldn’t have happened to a better kid. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for him at the next level; I won’t miss a game.”
