Fast Break with the Cardinals

NICK NOVOTNY, SENIOR

Q: What are your goals this season?
A: Our team goal is always to get on top and win that state championship.

Q: What does it mean to play “Mentor basketball”?
A: Run up and down the floor, hitting 3s, making the other team tired and busting it on every play.

Q: What is your most memorable moment as a Cardinal?
A: Working every day together in the summer, staying over night, bonding with team – that is something that will stick with you forever,

Q: What Cardinal did you enjoy watching play or base your game after?
A: Michael Gallagher is someone I liked watching play. He did all the little things that people in the stands may not have noticed, but it always helped the team win.

Q: What is something that people don’t know about you?
A: I take all my classes at Lakeland and I am on schedule to get my Associates Degree before I graduate high school.

ANDREW ROBINSON, JUNIOR

Q: What are your goals this season?
A: Everybody knows we want to win the state title. Coach preaches that every day.

Q: What does it mean to play “Mentor basketball”?
A: We have to start attacking, hustling more, we have to hit the boards.

Q: What is your most memorable moment as a Cardinal?
A: I just like bonding with team, going out in the summer and having a good time with everyone.

Q: What Cardinal did you enjoy watching play or base your game after?
A: Justin Fritts was a great player – he hustled on defense which most people didn't recognize or appreciate. He always attacked the rim and getting his teammates involved.

Q: What is something that people don’t know about you?
A: I am sort of a goofball and the life of the party.
