Four Huskies set PRs at Cardinal Invitational

MIDDLEFIELD—Cardinal’s cross country team benefitted from running on their home course on Saturday.

Four Huskies—Emily Kruse, Allissa Nevison, Noel Springer and Shelby Miller—ran personal best times to lead Cardinal to a seventh place finish in the girls race.

“It was a perfect day to run and the course was in great shape,” Kruse said. “I was determined to run my best time. Last year was a rough year for me as I was recovering from shoulder surgery. This year I really wanted to do well and reach my full potential. So far, I'm happy with where I'm at and hope to improve as the season comes to an end.”

Kruse finished 19th overall with a time of 21:56.

“I'm really happy with my time,” she said. “My coach gave me a target and I reached it as well as running my lifetime PR about midway through the season. I hope my times continue to drop as the postseason approaches.”

Nevison finished 27th with a time of 23:06 and both Springer and Miller finished among the top 50 runners. Springer was 44th with a time of 24:30 and Miller was right behind her in 24:34.

Maddie Dobay finished in 25:28 to place 59th.

Wickliffe won the boys race while Hawken took the girls title.
