Gaffney paces VASJ runners at U Wanna Come Back Invitational

The Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings cross country team ran well in the U Wanna Come Back Invitational in Perry on Sept. 5.

On the boys side, Alonzo Gaffney led the Vikings, finishing 21st out of 110 runners with a time of 18:49. Billy Vidmar finished with a time of 19:33, good for 43rd. Vidmar bested his time at the same event last year by more than a minute. Liam Staunton and Sherman Dean also finished in the top 100 at 68th and 76th, respectively.

On the girls side, Elizabeth Smith finished in 43rd place out of 116 with a time of 24:02, cutting 3 minutes from her time in the event in 2014. Erin Osborne finished with a time of 24:39, good for 46th place. Olivia Vidmar and Alissa Dodd ran 58th and 78th, respectively.

Jason Priah, Sean Johns, Myles Robinson and Aminah Wyatt also participated at the U Wanna Come Back Invitational for VASJ.
