Kirtland’s volleyball team continued its march toward the postseason with 3-1 win over host Euclid on Monday.
The Hornets, who improved to 9-7 overall, dropped the Panthers, 25-14, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-12.
“They are getting better each match,” said Kirtland coach Bob Schenosky of his young Hornets, who have won two straight and four of their last five. “I’d say that everyone did something well tonight.”
Katherine Skrbis led the team with 12 kills and added five digs. Emma Bartholomew recorded 13 digs and 15 service points with four aces. Emily Nerderman posted team-highs with 26 assists and 22 service points. She also hammered home three aces.
“It was a tough match against a good team,” Schenosky said. “We were led by a second solid match from Emma Bartholomew while Katherine Skrbis led us at the net again and Emily Nerderman brings us 25 plus assists per match. I thought we served well tonight and showed perseverance.”
The Hornets travel to Richmond Heights on Thursday.
