The Ohio Volleyball Coaches Association on Monday released its third state poll of the season and Independence and Kirtland locked in their spots among the top teams in Ohio.
Independence, the defending Division III state runner-up, remained ranked No. 3 while Kirtland moved up from No. 20 to No. 13.
The Blue Devils, who have won 113 straight Chagrin Valley Conference games, are 15-0 this season with wins over Magnificat, ranked No. 6 in Division I, Beaumont, ranked 14th in Division II, and Huron, the seventh-ranked team in Division III.
Kirtland is 17-1 with a loss to Independence in the season-opener on Aug. 24 and 17 straight wins, including one over Kenston, ranked 17th in Division II.
