Jeff Hunter Memorial Spaghetti Dinner highlights regular season finale for VASJ

Villa Angela-St. Joseph will wrestle at home one more time this winter as part of an event that is special for more than just the fact it is the Viking Village finale.

The Jeff Hunter '85 Memorial Spaghetti Dinner and wrestling match will be held at VASJ on Friday, Feb. 20 as planned regardless of weather or school closure. The match against neighborhood rival Euclid begins at 6 p.m., and Friday will also be Senior Night where the Vikings will be honoring outgoing seniors Danny Cervenik and Mar-Cel English.

Last year, VASJ hosted a tri-match with neighborhood rival Euclid and South’s B team participating during the Jeff Hunter Memorial Spaghetti Dinner, with between 250 to 270 fans served.

It is the final tuneup for the postseason for the Vikings. VASJ will participate in the Division III Independence Sectional with qualifiers advancing to the difficult Garfield Heights District.
