Kruse paces Huskies at Spartan Invitational

Cardinal finished 16th at the 2015 Boardman Spartan Invitational on Saturday but even more impressive than where they finished was how they did.

“My girls ran great races,” said Cardinal coach Megan Cameron. “Each of them ran their season best time yesterday. As a team we competed.”

Senior Emily Kruse led the Huskies with a time of 23:03, good for 50th place overall. Junior Alissa Nevison was 69th with a time of 23:59. Senior Noel Springer ran a 25:09 while junior Shelby Miller (25:36) and senior Maddie Dobay (25:39) followed closely behind.

“Something that I'm really happy about is that there was only two minutes between Kruse, our No. 1 runner, and Dobay, our No. 55 runner,” Cameron said. “I’m very encouraged by their performance and I'm looking forward to seeing how they race come the end of the season.”

The Huskies will compete on Tuesday at the Grand Valley Invitational then host the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday.
