Mallory Trombetta named Independence Athlete of the Week

Junior libero Mallory Trombetta was named Independence Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014.

Trombetta has proven herself to be a defensive force for the Blue Devils this season.

She led the defense in three wins against Cuyahoga Heights, Perry and Huron with 55 digs and a 2.11 serve receive (out of 3). Her leadership and enthusiasm to keep the ball off the floor is contagious to her teammates. She has an ability to read the hitters and put herself in the best position to make a defensive play on the ball. Trombetta’s ball control has allowed the Blue Devils to speed up their offense, which has added to the team’s success so far this season.
