Perry cruises past Geneva


GENEVA–Jaylen Anderson ran for four touchdowns and caught another in leading Perry to a dominating 49-14 win over previously undefeated Geneva at SPIRE on Friday.

The Eagles, who closed out the regular season 5-1, scored the first touchdown of the game when Charles Taylor plunged into the end zone one a one-yard carry.

Perry scored the next 28 points on a Brandon Mason reverse,  two Anderson runs of  13 and five yards and a 17-yard Jacob Caldwell to Anderson pass.

Brady Peet’s one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter pulled the Eagles to within 28-14 but that’s as close as they’d get.

Javin Richards ran for a five-yard score and Anderson closed out the scoring with a two and a one-yard touchdown run.

He finished the night with 184 yards on 24 carries.

Taylor led Geneva with 12 carries for 110 yards.
