Cardinal junior Jacob Revak made history in the Huskies’ 12-2 win at Grand Valley on Thursday.
Revak set a new school record with eight goals in the win, which also tied him for seventh in Ohio High School Athletic Association history for goals scored in a single game.
“Jake was as aggressive as he has ever been,” said Cardinal coach Mike Topalian. “He was very patient and waited for his shots. He found open spaces to work in and his touches were outstanding tonight. I’m very proud of him. He has improved so much from last season.”
Senior Trent Mast scored a hat trick and Jacob LeQuyea scored one goal in the win.
“We started slow on a rainy field but eventually controlled midfield,” Topalian said. “The (midfielders) worked the ball up to the box and started getting quality shots with the kids up front. Their energy really picked up and they played smart. Goalie Austin Miller had a nice night with some aggressive plays. Trent was everywhere again and had the hat trick.”
Cardinal improved to 6-5-1 overall. The Huskies host Kirtland on Tuesday.
