CHARDON—Kirtland junior Michael Schnur shot even par 36 to lead the Hornets to a 163-210 win over Cardinal at St. Denis Golf Course on Wednesday.
Schnur has now finished even in his last two matches to lower his 9-hole average to 36.63 strokes per round.
“It was really windy towards the end and it was playing tough,” Schnur said. “A few shots got caught in the wind. Even was pretty good today. I’m pretty proud of that.”
Michael Knezevic finished with a 41 for the Hornets and Adam Mueller and Jack Dever both carded 43.
The Hornets improved to 10-0 on the year (8-0 in stroke play and 2-0 in match play).
Junior Virginia Travers led the Huskies with a 47.
Kevin Hammitt shot 49 and Jonathan Heredos finished with a 51.
“It went pretty well to me,” Travers said. “I had a couple bad putts. I was like lipping around the cup for par, but other than that I think I had a pretty good round.”
