Several of the Chagrin Valley Conference‘s top boys cross country runners are back for the 2027 season, including a group of returning state qualifiers led by West Geauga’s Ian Res, who finished sixth in Division II, and Chagrin Falls’ Kelan Byrne, who placed 19th in Division III.
The league’s returning talent runs deep.
Chagrin Falls brings back much of the lineup that reached the Division III state meet, while Orange, Edgewood, Kirtland, and West Geauga also return experienced postseason competitors. Several additional runners narrowly missed qualifying for state after strong performances at their regional meets, setting the stage for another competitive fall.
Below is a look at the CVC’s top returning runners for 2027. The list is presented alphabetically by postseason performance and includes each athlete’s best postseason time along with state and regional finishes from 2026.
