Villa Angela-St. Joseph solidified itself as the top seed in the Division IV Medina District tournament with an impressive 3-0 win over Mapleton in a sectional final on Oct.18.
The Vikings won, 25-6, 25-6, 25-15, en route to a sectional championship. VASJ, the defending Medina District champs, will play Mogadore on Oct. 23 in a district semifinal.
The VASJ-Mogadore winner will play either Kidron Central Christian or Rittman for the district title on Oct. 25.
VASJ, who was the Division IV state runner-up in 2013, improved to 14-7 on the season.
