VASJ senior Brian Parker shines at South Invitational

Villa Angela-St. Joseph senior Brian Parker has already made a name for himself on the basketball court, winning two state titles and earning a Division I scholarship to Marist.

At the Willoughby South Invitational Track Meet on April 17, Parker made a name for himself yet again in a new sport.

Parker was a member of the 4X100 relay that took first with the fourth best time in the state at 45.01. John Hearn, Tremayne Harvell and LaRon Jones rounded out the winning relay team.

Parker also was a member of the 4X200 relay (Hearn, Jones, Harvell and Gaston Dowdley), and individually took fifth in the 100M and eighth in the 200M.

VASJ’s Jacob Stauffer placed seventh in the discus with a throw of 134 feet.

On the girls side, Kynadi Byers was sixth in the 100 at 13.02. Toni Beuck was ninth in the 400 and was part of the 4×200 relay that placed 10th (Jordan Walker, Alison Sukys, Byers.)

The VASJ girls 4×100 relay was eighth featuring Dena Pullem, Sukys, Taylor Parker and Byers.

The Vikings also competed the next day at St. Thomas Aquinas.
