VASJ tunes up for showdown at St. Ignatius with blowout over Trinity

Villa Angela-St. Joseph kept up its domination of the NCL White Division and its reign at Viking Village with an 83-49 win over Trinity on Feb. 13.

The Vikings improved to 14-2 overall and remained perfect at home by jumping out to a 45-22 halftime lead.

VASJ senior Simon Texidor scored 20 points to lead the Vikings – who had 12 players score – to an easy win. VASJ will travel to St. Ignatius on Valentine's Day to face the Wildcats at Sullivan Gymnasium.

"This game was all about our juniors, who really stepped up and gave us great minutes," VASJ coach Babe Kwasniak said. "Sherman Dean, Kevin Roberts, Quentin Dove, Jake Stauffer all played well. It was good to play a lot of guys and get ready for St. Ignatius."

Carlton Bragg and Dererk Pardon each chipped in 11 points for the Vikings, who played without All-Ohioan Brian Parker.

Senior guard Tremayne Harvell also played meaningful minutes on Senior Night at Viking Village.
