12 CVC Athletes earn All-Ohio honors

The Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association on Saturday released its 2023 All-Ohio teams, which featured 12 athletes from the Chagrin Valley Conference and one Coach of the Year honor.

Leading the way were first-team All-Ohioans Nickolas Barisic, Grant Keilin, and Eliza Wills, all in Division III.

Barisic, a senior midfielder from Kirtland, led the Hornets with 33 goals and 23 assists this season. Keilin, a junior midfielder from Beachwood, led the Bison with 37 goals and 18 assists. Wills, a senior midfielder from Wickliffe, scored 14 goals with eight assists.

Beachwood coach Brian Greene was named the Division III Coach of the Year.

Harvey senior forward Byron Perez earned second-team honors in Division II while Beachwood senior defender Kyle Bennet, Crestwood senior midfielder Elijah Jurisch, and Independence senior midfielder Khalil McDonald each earned second-team honors in Division III.

Perry junior forward Jordan Rowan earned second-team All-Ohio honors in girls Division II while Independence senior forward Casey Adams and Cuyahoga Heights senior midfielder Reece Frank were second-team selections in Division III.
