Badgers start fast in win over Grand Valley

Berkshire scored two goals in the first five minutes of its non-conference game against visiting Grand Valley on Saturday. The Badgers went on to win, 4-0.

We started out hot then got unorganized the rest of the half,” said Berkshire coach Ian Patterson. “Second half was much better looking for us with an adjusted formation that proved to seal the game.”

Julia Frank, Lexi Boyk and Allie Barcikoski all scored goals and added an assist for the Badgers while Clara Agawa converted a penalty kick.

Summer Larch posted a team-high two assists.

Goalkeeper Elsa Morton posted her first shutout of the season for the Badgers, who improved to 3-0 on the year.

“We’ve got one of our many junior leaders back on the field from a previous injury and changing our formation in the second half really solidified us in the back,” Patterson said.

Berkshire hosts Perry on Monday.
