Joelle Banks scored a pair of goals to lead Wickliffe to a 2-0 win over visiting North on Thursday.
With the win, the Blue Devils improved to 12-2-1 on the year.
“Joelle Banks came up big this game using her speed on one goal and a distance shot on her other,” said Wickliffe coach Steve Gribovicz. “Gianna Ranallo set Joelle’s first goal up with a speed dribble down the middle and sent Joelle up the middle which sparked our team.”
Wickliffe led 2-0 at halftime then held off the Rangers the rest of the way.
“We were able to use team speed to score in this game while our defense held up strong against an aggressive style of play,” Gribovicz said. “This game showed our girls that even when things are not going ideal and there are some disconnects that playing hard can have positive results. It tested us in a way we have not yet been this season.”
Kaylee Lauriel recorded four saves for the Blue Devils while Carly Rutkowski finished with seven saves for the Rangers.
Wickliffe closes out the regular season on Monday against Fuchs Mizrachi.
