Beachwood’s dream season continues into districts

BURTON—Beachwood overcame a slow start to defeat Berkshire in a Division III sectional championship game at Berkshire on Saturday.

With the win, the Bison improved to 20-1 on the year. The 20 wins are a school record and the postseason win was the first for Beachwood since a 2-1 victory over Hawken in a sectional semifinal in 2003 and the first sectional championship in school history.

Berkshire opened the match with a 25-16 win but the Bison regrouped and won the final three sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-13.

Kyimani Miller recorded 12 kills, three blocks and 12 digs in the win while Erion Gibson added nine kills and Nicole Petty finished with 17 digs.

Berkshire closed out the season with an 11-13 record. The Badgers won four of their last five.
