Beachwood’s Jayson Woodrich named Division III District Player of the Year

The Northeast Lakes District All-Basketball teams were released on Thursday.

Beachwood senior Jayson Woodrich and Kirtland head coach Shawn McGregor headlined a long list of Chagrin Valley Conference honorees.

Woodrich was named the Division III Player of the Year after averaging 26.5 points per game during the regular season and McGregor earned the nod as the Division III Coach of the Year.

Including Woodrich, the CVC placed nine athletes on the first team.

Girls’ basketball players earning the honor included Perry’s Madyson Hacking, Kaydan Lawson and Bella Dalessandro in Division II and Wickliffe’s Stephanie Martin and Cardinal’s Camille Cummins in Division III.

West Geauga’s Josh Irwin earned first team all-district in Division II, Woodrich was a first-team selection in Division III and Richmond Heights had two players named to the first team in Division IV including Curtis Houston and Gbolahan Adio.

All of the CVC’s all-district players are listed below.
