Berkshire picks up first win

Berkshire’s young golf team picked up its first win over the season on Monday as the Badgers held off rival Cardinal, 204-224.

Alex Mulacek regrouped after a few tough holes to finish with a team-best 48.

“Overall, I thought we played okay,” Berkshire coach Dave List said. “Alex Mulacek did a great job of keeping his composure after a rough start. He played the first three holes at 7-over and still shot a 48.”

Wilson Jackson carded a 50 for the Badgers and Nate McInnerney and Matt Hart rounded out the scoring with a 51 and a 55, respectively.

Berkshire improved to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the Chagrin Valley Conference.

Cardinal’s Seth Hill shot a 42 to win medalist honors. Conner Callison finished with a 51, Devan Callison shot a 59 and Tyler Dillon closed out the scoring with a 73.

“Cardinal has really improved in a short time,” Lists said. “Seth Hill had a nice round for them. We still need to get more players scoring in the 40s. We have guys that are capable of doing that, we just haven’t put it together as a team yet. It was good to get the first win of the season though.”
