AKRON—Kirtland’s Adam Knaak and Luke Chuko represented the Chagrin Valley Conference in the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game on Wednesday at
In addition to showcasing their skills among some of the best players in Northeast Ohio, Knaak also took home some hardware.
He was named the NEOBCA Division III Co-Player of the Year along with Perry’s Owen McKoon.
“It’s a great feeling,” Knaak said. “I love being out here. I am excited to play on this beautiful field. It means everything to me. I would like to thank my teammates for getting me here and I would also like to thank my coaches for helping out.”
During the all-star game, both Knaak and Chuko had excellent games at the plate.
In fact, both Knaak and Chuko hit hard line drive singles in the first inning, which led their team to a quick 3-0 lead.
After the contest, Chuko talked about being an all-star.
“It was a great time out here,” he said. “I loved all my teammates, my coaches; it was fun, and getting to play and represent Kirtland was great.”
Chagrin Falls assistant coach John Bakalar was named the Division III NEOBCA Assistant Coach of the Year and Tiger head coach Mike Sweeney was recognized for achieving his 400th victory this season.
