CVC dives into postseason

BEACHWOOD—Chagrin Valley Conference athletes dove into the postseason with the start of the 2022 CVC Swimming and Diving Championships at Beachwood High School on Friday.

Orange’s Brandon Gent won the boys’ diving competition while Chagrin Falls’ Samantha Holtz won her second straight title.

Gent finished his 11 dives with a score of 272.70 to beat out teammate Samuel Williams for first place. Williams finished with 260.80.

Holtz dominated the competition with a score of 517.85.

Beachwood’s Nina Mayers finished second with 256.45, Perry’s Lydia Roberts was third with 248.65, Hawken’s Sofia Boyd placed fourth with 248.35, and Orange’s Audrey Blasier finished fifth with 225.95.

The swimming portion of the event will be held at Beachwood on Saturday.
