Hawks finish second at Badger Invitational

All five of Hawken’s golfers finished among the top 16 as the Hawks earned second place at the Berkshire Invitational at Pleasant Hills Golf Course on Tuesday.

Lake Catholic won the event with a score of 323 while Hawken came in with a 333. Lutheran West finished fourth with a 359 and Independence tied for fifth with a 361. Wickliffe (381), Cardinal (397) and Berkshire (405) also participated in the event.

Thomas Wong led Hawken with an 81, good for sixth place, and Cooper Bryan finished eighth with an 82. Jack Spiegle (84) tied for 11th and Quinn Petersen shot an 86 to finish 12th. Peyton O’Keefe placed 16th with an 88.

Independence’s Mark Pillar shot a 75 to finish second and Lutheran West’s Jacob Gross was third with a 76.

Other Chagrin Valley Conference golfers to finish among the top 20 were Lutheran West’s D.J. Robinson, who placed ninth with an 83, Cardinal’s Troy Domen, who was tied for 12th with an 86, Wickliffe’s Calvin Cackowski, who tied for 16th with an 88, and Independence’s A.J. Marcinko, who carded a 90 to finish tied for 19th.

Hare attended Willoughby South High School through the middle of his senior year, then graduated from Berkshire High School in Burton in 1986.
