MIDDLEFIELD–Cardinal celebrated Senior Night with a 60-20 win over visiting Brooklyn on Friday.
With the win, the Huskies improved to 4-5 on the season and won back-to-back games for the first time this season. Brooklyn dropped to 2-7.
Joey Soltis accounted for four first-half touchdowns as the Huskies built a 37-13 lead.
He threw a touchdown pass to Morgan Hershberger and ran for three scores. Ethan Detweiler also ran for a Cardinal score and Maclain Robinson booted a 45-yard field goal as the Huskies pulled away from the Hurricanes.
Brooklyn opened the scoring in the second half but the Huskies responded with another Soltis touchdown pass, this one to Michael Lucarelli, and Robby Granny blocked a punt that led to a safety. Seth Peters also scored in the second half for Cardinal.
Cardinal closes out the season at Wickliffe on Friday while Brooklyn hosts Richmond Heights.
