Huskies sweep tri-match

HUNTSBURG–Cardinal earned a pair of victories on Thursday by defeating both Berkshire and Garfield in a tri-match at Rolling Greens Golf Course.

The Huskies finished with 172 strokes while Garfield shot a 206. With just three golfers, Berkshire did not score as a team.

Cardinal’s Conner Callison claimed medalist honors with a match low 38 on the par-36 front nine. Troy Domen shot 40, Seth Hill carded a 45, and Matt Hissa closed out the Cardinal scoring with a 49.

Jacob Zeiler led the Badgers with a 58. Mario Romagni and Preston Garling shot 62 and 70, respectively.

Garfield’s Hayden Peska and Landen Gedeon both shot a 46 to lead the G-Men.

Haley Adams is a 2016 graduate of Cardinal High School. She is currently in her third year at Hiram College with a major in Communications and a minor in Writing. Haley, a three-sport standout at Cardinal, has participated in many athletic events at Hiram and plans to become a sports broadcaster.
