Lions ride early lead to win at Hawken

GATES MILLS—Scott Minor and Harrison Pyner both scored five points in the first quarter to lead Orange to a 60-41 win over host Hawken on Tuesday.

Minor and Pyner each went on to score a game-high 12 points in the win.

The Lions led 20-6 after the first quarter and 32-18 at halftime.

Nicholas Walters also scored in double figures for Orange as he finished with 10 points. Donald Hughes contributed to the win with eight points and Tyler Hoffman added six for the Lions, who improved to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in Chagrin Valley Conference play.

Khalil Suggs led Hawken with nine points and Michael Coyne scored eight.

Haley Adams is a 2016 graduate of Cardinal High School. She is currently in her third year at Hiram College with a major in Communications and a minor in Writing. Haley, a three-sport standout at Cardinal, has participated in many athletic events at Hiram and plans to become a sports broadcaster.
