Wickliffe runs past Trinity

WICKLIFFE—Chase Fortkamp and Mason Bala each rushed for over 100 yards and scored multiple touchdowns in Wickliffe’s 48-7 win over visiting Trinity on Friday.

Fortkamp led the way with 143 yards on 12 carries while Bala finished the night with 120 yards on 14 carries with two scores.

Trinity opened the scoring with a Cael Brown two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter but the Blue Devils answered by scoring the final 48 points of the game.

Bala tied the score with four-yard run in the first quarter and Isaiah Bolon gave the Blue Devils a 14-7 lead with a 30-yard run in the second.

Fortkamp closed out the first half with scoring runs of 9 and 11 yards.

Jacob Lewis, who ran for 51 yards on seven carries, added an 18-yard touchdown run in the third and Fortkamp pushed Wickliffe’s lead to 41-7 with a 20-yard touchdown.

Bala closed out the night with a 38-yard scamper.

Wickliffe outgained Trinity on the ground, 394-57.

Trinity’s Ian Anderson completed 13-of-21 passes for 221 yards but threw four interceptions.
