Badgers look to develop in a hurry

Berkshire returns three starters from last year but the Badgers are relatively young and inexperienced.

They’ll look to grow up in a hurry as they hope to remain competitive in the Chagrin Valley Conference.

“I’m looking for improvement each and every time we step foot on the golf course,” said 21st-year head coach Dave List. “Outside of (Forrest) Kuchling, we have limited varsity experience.”

Kuchling, a senior, is the most talented and experienced golfer on the Berkshire roster.

He earned first team All-CVC honors after averaging 40.1 strokes per nine holes and 80.0 in 18-hole rounds.

“I’m looking forward to Forrest having a great season,” List said. “He has the ability to make a deep tournament run. He will be one of the top performers in the conference.”

Rounding out the lineup for the Badgers, who finished 8-9 overall and 3-3 in the CVC last year, are juniors Caden Neumore, Lenny Barcicoski and Andrew Young and senior Mason Mulacek.

Neumore averaged 55.3 strokes per nine holes and 108.0 per 18 while Barcicoski finished with 56.4 and 109. Young and Mulacek will make their first varsity appearances at the CVC preseason tournament on Thursday at Pine Hills Golf Course in Hinckley.
