Badgers roll to big win at Harvey

Jake Brown combined for over 200 yards of offense and Ryan Pennypacker rushed for 165 yards and two scores in a 41-0 rout of host Harvey on Friday.

Berkshire’s offense accounted for over 400 yards of offense in the game.

“The offense overcame penalties early to produce 405 total yards,” Berkshire coach Josh DeWeese said. “We have some work to do to become more efficient but they did a good job of working within the offense. I was proud of how they fought through the adversity in the first half to finish the game.”

Brown opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 38-yard touchdown pass to Evan McDermott then ran in the two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead.

Pennypacker then scored the first of his two touchdowns on an 18-yard run.

Lexi Boyk made history as the first female to score a point in a Berkshire football game when she converted her first of three extra-point tries. She finished 3-for-3 on the night.

Brown ran for a two-yard touchdown and threw a 47-yard scoring pass to Joe Barcikoski to push the Badger lead to 29-0 at halftime.

Pennypacker added a four-yard touchdown run and Brown ran for a 56-yard score in the second half.

Brown ran for 89 yards on five carries and completed 4-of-11 passes for 110 yards.

Zac Nehas blocked a third-quarter punt for the Badgers.

“The defense played tough all night,” DeWeese said. “We gave up 77 total yards in the contest and earned the shutout.”

Berkshire hosts Fairport Harding in Week 2. The Skippers opened the season with a 32-6 win over Newbury on Friday.
