Bison beat Lutheran West to remain undefeated

Beachwood scored three goals in the final 10 minutes of its 4-1 win over visiting Lutheran West on Thursday.

With the win, the Bison improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2007.

“I’m so proud of our group for this win,” said Beachwood coach Jonathan Kostoff. “It’s a huge momentum boost for us before conference play opens next Thursday. We had a terrific crowd tonight and our group fed off their energy.”

With the game tied, 1-1, with 10 minutes left in regulation, Kostoff altered his formation and the results couldn’t have been better.

“Our entire team dug deep and scored three goals in the next six minutes to seal the win,” Kostoff said. “It was an incredible team win anchored by our goalie, Madison Prince, and our defense.”

Freshman Romi Roth scored two of her three goals and Sunny Wang added one during that late second half run.

Wang, Carly Petti and Sophie Karl each assisted on goals and Prince recorded 16 saves.

Abriana Rondin scored Lutheran West’s goal.
