Three teams from the Chagrin Valley Conference on Wednesday punched their tickets to the district championship round.
Cardinal, Independence and Kirtland all advanced to Saturday’s district finals with 3-0 wins on Wednesday.
The Huskies defeated South Range, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19, and will host Kirtland in the district championship on Saturday.
Jessie Proch led the Huskies with 14 kills and Alaina Strever posted a team-high 18 digs in the win. Haley Domen added 23 assists.
Cardinal has not won a district title since 1996.
Independence improved to 21-3 overall with a 3-0 sweep of Chippewa.
The Blue Devils, who will play in a fourth straight district championship match, won 25-12, 25-14, 25-13, and will host Brookside in the district final on Saturday. The Blue Devils beat Brookside for the district championship last season.
Kirtland got off to a hot start in a 3-0 win over visiting Rootstown.
Ava Golem opened the match with 15 straight service points as the Hornets won the first set, 25-5. They finished off the Rovers with 25-16 and 25-19 wins in the second and third sets.
Kirtland will take a five-match winning streak with them to Cardinal on Saturday.
