Cardinal’s season ends in district final

ORWELL–Cardinal’s bid to reach the regional tournament for the first time in 25 years came up short as the Huskies fell to Columbiana Crestview, 3-1, in the Division III Grand Valley District championship game.

The Huskies outlasted the Rebels in the first set, 27-25, but struggled to finish the rest of the way. The lost set was just the fourth for the Rebels in 24 matches.

Crestview went on to win the next three sets, 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.

The Huskies end the year with a 19-5 record.
