Chagrin Falls, Orange send two wrestlers to district tournament

Chagrin Falls and Orange both had two wrestlers place among the top four at the rugged Division II St. Vincent-St. Mary sectional tournament to earn berths in next weekend’s Alliance District.

The Lions finished in sixth place overall with 70 points while Chagrin Falls was seventh with 54.

Orange junior Yury Pozdneev led the Chagrin Valley Conference contingent with a second-place finish at 120 pounds while teammate Grant Bell, a freshman, placed fourth at 220.

Orange sophomore Nick Linetsky (126) and junior Jared Kochis (132) both finished fifth and will serve as district alternates.

Senior Henry Woofter (285) led Chagrin Falls with a third-place finish and sophomore Owen McClintock (170) also punched his ticket to districts with a fourth-place finish. Freshman Ronan Fritz finished fifth at 113 and will be a district alternate.
