Cunnington leads Tigers to win over Bison

CHAGRIN FALLS–Chagrin Falls senior Lindy Cunnington allowed just one run on one hit and two walks and struck out three to lead the Tigers to an 11-1 win over visiting Beachwood on Wednesday.

She also added a single and scored two runs in the win.

“Lindy did a great job today and every day,” Chagrin Falls coach Greg Munn said. “She’s had a great season thus far. She only walked two batters today and gave up a hit and one got on by an error. She did a great job and has been doing a great job.”

After being shut down in order in the first, the Tigers rallied for five runs in the second and added six more in the fourth to invoke the run rule.

Hanne Wilson and Sara Hartle both finished the day with a pair of hits for the Tigers and Cece Cox tripled and walked twice. Courtney Myers and Lexie Christie also singled in the game for Chagrin Falls.

Beachwood scored a run on one hit, two walks and an error in the fourth.

“Our game plan was just to come out on top to jump on them early, to be aggressive right off the bat,” Beachwood assistant coach Nicole Greisl said. “Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way but that’s our mentality every single game.”
