BURTON–The 2026 Chagrin Valley Conference Metro and Valley Division Track and Field Championships produced dominant team performances, dramatic finishes, and several standout multi-event athletes Thursday at Berkshire High School.

On the boys’ side, Berkshire track edged Crestwood track and to capture the Valley Division title with 162 points, while Cuyahoga Heights track slipped past Independence track by a single point to win the Metro Division championship, 146.5-145.5.

The girls’ championships saw Crestwood track claim the Valley crown with 158 points while rolled to the Metro Division title with 183 points.

Several athletes turned in huge performances. Fairview’s Bryce Ries swept the Metro distance races, Crestwood’s won four Valley events, Independence’s Carter Howard dominated the hurdles, and Kirtland’s Izzie Copeland captured both Valley girls’ distance titles.
