Grand Valley falls in district semifinal

BURTON–Grand Valley’s season came to an end with a 3-0 loss to Crestwood in a Division III district semifinal at Berkshire on Wednesday.

Crestwood won the match 25-13, 25-8, 25-18, closing out the Mustangs’ banner season with a 17-6 record.

Barbara Jackson led the way for Grand Valley with 13 kills, 10 digs, two blocks and a service ace. Rylie Pucel added 20 digs, eight assists and six kills, Hallie Soltis finished with 12 digs and a block and Courtney Hivick pitched in with four digs and a service ace.

The Mustangs earned a share of the Chagrin Valley Conference Valley Division title in their first year in the league.

Haley Adams
Haley Adams is a 2016 graduate of Cardinal High School. She is currently in her third year at Hiram College with a major in Communications and a minor in Writing. Haley, a three-sport standout at Cardinal, has participated in many athletic events at Hiram and plans to become a sports broadcaster.
