The team turned an all-around team effort into its most convincing result of the season, rolling past Akron Firestone, 8-0, behind five different goal scorers and a shutout from goalkeeper .

led the Red Raiders’ offensive surge with three goals, thriving in a new role at striker after traditionally operating in Harvey’s midfield.

added two goals, while , and each scored once as Harvey consistently created chances and kept the Falcons under pressure.

“This was a great team win for the Lady Raiders,” Harvey coach said. “Although the girls have faced some adversity this season, they were able to work together to create scoring opportunities.”

Harvey’s midfield played a significant role in controlling the match, helping the Red Raiders maintain possession and repeatedly push the game toward the Firestone goal.

“The midfielders did a great job working on both the offensive and defensive end of the field,” Maffit said. “Our midfielders were key in keeping possession of the ball to keep our team on the attacking end.”

Lopez shines in new role

Lopez Pacheco provided the biggest offensive spark with her three-goal performance.

Normally an important piece of Harvey’s midfield, Lopez Pacheco recently moved forward into a striker role and quickly showed she could provide a finishing touch there as well.

“A big game for Joanna Lopez Pacheco,” Maffit said. “Traditionally, Joanna has been a key in our midfield and has recently taken on a striker role. Lopez Pacheco seamlessly transitioned to the new position, earning her three goals during the match.”

Reynoso gave Harvey another multi-goal threat with two scores, while Geisler, Gommez Lara and Nila helped make the attack difficult for Firestone to contain.

Vazquez Estrada earns first clean sheet

While Harvey’s offense piled up eight goals, Vazquez Estrada made sure Firestone never answered.

The Red Raiders’ goalkeeper finished with eight saves to record her first clean sheet of the season.

“ Estrada has been a consistent game changer for the Lady Raiders, making multiple saves a game,” Maffit said. “Vazquez Estrada’s ability to help keep the score gap small has been a big morale boost to the team this season.”

Against Firestone, Vazquez Estrada turned that consistency into a shutout.

“In the match against Akron Firestone, Vazquez Estrada received her first clean sheet of the season,” Maffit said.

The performance gave Harvey contributions throughout the lineup — five different goal scorers, strong midfield possession and eight saves in goal — as the Red Raiders converted a complete team effort into an 8-0 victory.
