Hurricanes take three at Cuyahoga Heights

Brooklyn got off to a slow start in a Chagrin Valley Conference Metro Division contest at Cuyahoga Heights on Tuesday but the Hurricanes rallied to win 3-1.

After dropping the first set, 20-25, the Hurricanes won three-set to close out the match, 25-20, 25-13, 25-13.

“Once again, a complete team effort rounding off the team with senior Taylor Meehan, junior Tori Godley and Abriella Bartczak and freshman setter Taylor Ruffin assisting in our victory,” Brooklyn coach Debbie Hall said. “We welcomed back junior Lehlah Jackson, who played a tough defense after finally being medically cleared to play.”

Senior Jaden Walz led the Hurricanes with 30 kills and she added six service aces. Junior Madison Meehan contributed with eight kills and several key tips. Ruffin added six kills and five block and junior Kylie Erne finished with four blocks and 15 service points.

With the win, Brooklyn improved to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in league play.
