Lakeside runners make strides at Berkshire Invitational

BURTON—Behind top 20 finishers Colton Hampton and Athena Pantoja, Lakeside’s runners turned in a strong performance at the 2019 Berkshire Early Bird Invitational on Aug. 24.

Hampton, a senior, finished in 19th place overall with a time of 17:00 to pace the Dragons to a 14th place in the boys’ race. Pantoja, a junior, placed 11th in 20:23 to lead Lakeside to 10th place in the girls’ race.

Thurston Shaw (19:15), Joey Varckette (19:57), Gavin Richardson (21:21), Michael Paulchel (22:11) and Quinton Sutton (23:20) also competed for Lakeside in the boys’ event while Marissa Calabris (24:34), Erica Housel (24:52), Maria Perez (24:56) and Jenna Frabutt (25:51) ran in the girls’ race.

Haley Adams
Haley Adams is a 2016 graduate of Cardinal High School. She is currently in her third year at Hiram College with a major in Communications and a minor in Writing. Haley, a three-sport standout at Cardinal, has participated in many athletic events at Hiram and plans to become a sports broadcaster.
