Orange comes up short at Chagrin Falls

Chagrin Falls jumped out to early leads in key sets to down visiting Orange on Thursday, 3-1.

The Tigers won 25-19, 25-17, 20-25 and 25-18.

“It was an exciting game to watch tonight,” said Orange coach Jen Gold. “The girls played with heart, but we got down in the score too early in the second and fourth sets.”

Senior Katie Hoover led the Lions with 12 digs while senior Maria Burdjalov finished with 13 kills and junior Sofia Garcia Olalla recorded five blocks in the setback.

“We had a great tipping game finding their holes on the opposite side of the net,” Gold said. “We had some key blocks and touches that lightened up Chagrin’s offensive attempts.”
