Ben Kniskern scored five goals and John Cashy controlled 16 of 17 faceoffs in leading Chagrin Falls to an 11-5 win over Toledo St. Francis in a Division II state lacrosse semifinal at Oberlin College on Wednesday.
With the win, the Tigers advanced to the state championship game for the first time since 2015 and also avenged a 10-3 regular season loss to St. Francis. Chagrin Falls won state titles in 2003 and 2015.
Will O’Brien contributed to the win with two goals and a pair of assists and Connor Brosnan, Cam Croasdaile, Clark Reboul and Alex Morris each scored one goal for the Tigers. Cam Owen led the Tigers with four assists and Morris added two. Griffin Lowe assisted on one goal.
The Tigers will play Cincinnati Mariemont–and 8-6 winner over Columbus DeSales–in Saturday’s state title game.
