CVC Football Scores

Week 1 started with a bang on Thursday as Edgewood used a last-minute two-point conversion to defeat visiting Conneaut, 15-14, and continued with plenty of action on Friday.

Kirtland head coach Tiger LaVerde recorded a milestone win as the Hornets defeated host Harvey, 34-8. LaVerde became the fastest coach in Ohio and the third-fastest in the nation to reach 200 wins and is now 200-18 since taking over the program in 2006. His .918 winning percentage is the best in OHSAA history.

The Hornets were up to their old tricks in the win as six backs rushed for over 50 yards. Kirtland finished the game with 369 rushing yards on 42 carries.

Harvey blocked a punt late in the game to score its only touchdown.
