Five CVC soccer teams earn state rankings

Five Chagrin Valley Conference teams appear in the most recent Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches’ Association state polls released on Monday.

Kirtland’s girls’ team remained at No. 2 in the Division III poll while the Hornets are No. 8 in the boys’ Division III rankings.

Independence’s boys’ team also earned a spot in the Division III boys’ poll as the Blue Devils came in at No. 13.

West Geauga and Chagrin Falls both earned a spot in the girls’ Division II rankings.

The Wolverines were ranked No. 15 while the Tigers earned enough votes to come in at No. 23.

He also created and publishes OhioVarsity.com, an online publication dedicated to providing hyperlocal coverage to area high school athletic programs. Hare began covering high school sports for the Lake County News Herald in 1997. Hare attended Willoughby South High School through the middle of his senior year, then graduated from Berkshire High School in Burton in 1986.
