Harvey wins first league title in 12 years

Bishop Thomas scored a game-high 29 points and Rod Coffee III added 20 to lead Harvey to a 60-51 win over visiting Perry on Friday.

With the win, the Red Raiders clinched the Chagrin Valley Conference Lake Division.

“It was a great night in Painesville,” Harvey coach Dave Wojciechowski said. “Our last title was 12 years ago. To be able to win it at home with this group of guys was special.”

Thomas and Coffee handled most of the scoring but the other Red Raiders contributed to the win and the right to cut down the nets.

“All the guys played their roles,” Wojciechowski said. “It was a true team win. Hopefully, our confidence stays high and we continue to do the little things as we move forward.”
