Huskies improve to 5-0

MIDDLEFIELD—Cardinal swept visiting Chagrin Falls on Saturday to push its record to 5-0 on the season.

The Huskies won 25-19, 25-15, 25-6.

Lauren Soltis led Cardinal’s attack with eight kills and she also posted three blocks. Karalyn Rutkowski added seven kills and a team-high seven blocks. Lindsay Hissa also recorded seven kills in the win. Haley Domen led the Huskies with 25 assists and also finished with six kills and three service aces. Lorelei Hutchinson contributed six kills and three blocks in the win. Gabby Nemeth was the team leader with 18 digs while Grace Whitney added 14.

Grace Svette led Chagrin Falls with 4 kills while Clara Ives and Paelyn Benz both finished with three. Madeline Rodriguez posted a team-high three service aces and Lilly Rini led the Tigers with 21 digs. Guddy and Rodriguez both finished with five assists.

Haley Adams is a 2016 graduate of Cardinal High School. She is currently in her third year at Hiram College with a major in Communications and a minor in Writing. Haley, a three-sport standout at Cardinal, has participated in many athletic events at Hiram and plans to become a sports broadcaster.
